How to convert a .pub file to a JPG or PNG image

Need a picture of your Publisher design for a website, a social media post or a text message? Convert the file to PDF first, then save the page as an image.

Step 1: Convert the .pub file to PDF

Step 2: Save the PDF as an image

On a Mac

Open the PDF in Preview. Choose File, then Export, then pick JPEG or PNG under Format. Preview exports the page you are viewing.

On Windows

Open the PDF and zoom so the full page fits on screen. Use the Snipping Tool to capture it and save it as a PNG.

On a Chromebook

Open the PDF in Chrome, fit the page on screen, then take a screenshot of the area with Shift, Ctrl and Show windows. The picture is saved to your Downloads folder as a PNG.

Tips for a sharp image

• Zoom in so the page fills the screen before you capture it.
• PNG keeps text crisper than JPG. Use JPG only when you need a smaller file.
• For multi-page files, save each page separately.
